Francisco ( Xico ) Rodrigues started yoga at the age of 14 and was introduced by his mother who is also a yoga teacher. At the age of 18 he found Ashtanga Yoga and dedicated the following 10 years to this practice. He was Authorised level II in 2008, and was invited in 2010 to be assistant of Sharath Jois at the KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore India.

Francisco distinguishes himself by starting to study different types of body movement and connecting the art of movement to the Tradition of Yoga. His method boosted the practice of many advanced practitioners and drew the attention of many yoga teachers who recognised that, the Ashtanga yoga Improv method, offered an immense variety of tools that could be incorporated to any type of yoga practice.

Francisco has always taken meditation as the most important part of all practices, believing that the body and the mind are just the vehicles that carry our true self. Our true self being the door to the understanding of the real meaning of what the tradition of yoga really is.

Ashtanga yoga Improv method is appropriate to every level, one of the great things about this classes is that all levels of students are practicing next to each other, and because of the scalable progressions  every one is challenged according to each one’s unique possibilities. Always evolving and always on the research for new and better ways to make the body and the mind more healthy. “Never a mistake always a lesson”
